Child and Adolescent Services |
Physiotherapy services for children and young people of any age and stage of life. Services include rehabilitation, normal movement development, sensory regulation and development of functional life skills.
Conditions may include but not limited to Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, ADHD, dyspraxia, Spina Bifida and more. Goals are developed with the child at the centre, to work on aspects important to the families and whanau. Benefits may include improved strength and balance, improved coordination, increased confidence, improved body awareness, improved postural control and increased mobility. Sessions can be home, school or clinic based. Duration can be 30 minutes to 2 hours for intensive sessions. This is private therapy and a referral can be made to the Te Whatu Ora Child Development Service should costs not be available, please contact for more information on this. |
Education Setting |
Physiotherapy and Sensory Integration Services available for Mainstream and Special Education students.
Extensive experience in the Special Education setting, leads to a wealth of knowledge and resources to help students with or without diagnosis to engage in learning opportunities across the school day. This may range from sport coaching to posture management, development of functional movement skills and life skills. Perceptual Movement Planning (PMP) programmes can also be developed and supported in the school setting. |
Motor and Sensory Integration |
Do you have a child or student who likes to run. jump, swing and crash?
Or one who is overly sensitive to movements, sounds, touch? A child or student struggling to meet milestones, or lacking focus in class, constant fidgeting, unable to hop or jump; can all be indicators sensory or motor deficits which can be improved with a focused activity session. Building strong foundations in the brain on the motor and sensory pathways which supports healthy functioning brains. Development and integration of functional movement. Movement development and sensory integration can have a variety of outcomes from improved balance and coordination to increased confidence, lower anxiety levels, more emotional regulation. Adult Therapy Services |
Treatment and rehabilitation service for adults wanting to improve movement, restore function and independence. This may be due to disability, following injury or other medical conditions. Comprehensive falls prevention and recovery service also available.
Services are mobile designed to suit your needs, can meet you at home or the pool or gym to help in the recovery of function or improving fitness. Not currently able to take ACC claims or ACC active clients. |
